What is FUT?

Also known as ‘strip surgery’, FUT stands for Follicular Unit Transplantation and is a type of surgical hair transplant known for minimizing trauma to the scalp and producing natural-looking results. In FUT operations, ‘follicular units’ made up of naturally occurring groups of one-to-four hairs, sebaceous (oil) glands, nerves, a small muscle, and occasionally fine vellus hairs, are transplanted.

How It Works

• Removing the Donor Tissue: The donor area is prepared, and a strip of tissue containing permanent hair follicles is removed.
• Preparing the Donor Hair: The donor strip is dissected into follicular units for transplantation.
• Placing the Follicular Units: Tiny incisions are made for each unit, ensuring a natural-looking result.

After the Procedure

Following the surgery, post-care instructions will be provided, and patients may experience mild discomfort, swelling, or tightness. Hair regrowth typically begins within three months, with noticeable improvements after six months.

What is FUE?

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a modern hair restoration method where individual hair follicles are removed and transplanted to other locations on the scalp. Unlike FUT, FUE does not leave a linear scar, making it a preferred choice for those who wish to keep their hair short.

How It Works

• Extraction: Individual follicular units are extracted from the donor area.
• Preparation: The extracted follicles are checked and prepared for implantation.
• Implantation: The follicles are placed into the recipient areas for natural hair regrowth.
